After having successfully supported the development junior football in 2005, in 2006 United Bank shifted its focus to assist junior tennis in St. Vincent, another sports activity with a great junior development potential. Among the three junior tennis schools present on our island, United Bank decided to support the “Bonan Tennis School”, run by Tony Boyea and Peter Nanton. Besides the excellent reputation and a level of near “Swiss” organisation , United bank was particularly attracted by their “Toddlers and Juniors Program”.

The tennis school is based in Calliaquai and trains approximately 70 boys and girls. United Bank’s financial support was directed mainly to acquire new and additional tennis equipment, to pay for tuition fees and to sponsor 10 children without the necessary financial means to attend a full year of tennis tuition.

In addition, in late Spring 2006 United Bank took over an additional sponsorship for the students of Calliaquai’s elementary school. United Bank sponsored for 25 boys and girls a full year of tuition three for 2006 (including all court rental fees, tuition fees and their tennis gear).
